honeymoon packing and planning tips list

1. Airline tickets or e-ticket confirmation
2. Passport/visas/driver's license
3. Credit cards (take only those you'll need)
4. Hotel/theater reservation fax confirmations
5. Traveler's checks
6. Photocopies of all of the above, plus a photocopy of related medical and/or trip insurance coverage and prescriptions (leave the copies in the room safe or the hotel's main safe if there isn't one in your room)
7. Phone numbers for your credit card companies (in case your cards are lost or stolen)
8. Prescription medicine (in the original bottle)
9. Contraception
10. Light sweater (for the plane, which can get cold)
11. And....if you simply must take valuable jewelry, wear it or take it in your carry-on, don't put it in any luggage to be checked
12. 1 pair jeans or khakis (for casual evenings that may be chillier than days)
13. 1 light jacket or pullover (take one that can be tied around the waist or stuffed in a backpack)
14. 1 nice sundress
15. 1 evening cocktail dress
16. 1 nice cardigan-style sweater (for chilly restaurants)
17. 4 casual shirts (T-shirts, tank tops, short-sleeve button-downs, etc.)
18. 2 pairs shorts
19. 2 swimsuits (bikini for the beach, one-piece for water sports)
20. 1 swimsuit cover-up (pareos work great and can double as a shawl in the evenings)
21. 1 pair comfortable walking shoes/sandals (you may wind up walking a bit if you go sightseeing)
22. 1 pair evening shoes/sandals
23. 1 evening purse
24. Extra socks and underwear
25. Bras (don't forget a strapless one if you've packed a top or dress that needs it)
26. Accessories (scarves and jewelry to "stretch" your wardrobe)
27. 1 pair jeans or khakis
28. 1 pair nice slacks
29. 1 light jacket or pullover (take one that can be tied around the waist or stuffed in a backpack)
30. 4 casual shirts (T-shirts or short-sleeve button-downs)

34. 1 tie (rolled up it won't take up much room, some restaurants require them)

39. Camera (disposable cameras are much more expensive at vacation spots)
40. Extra film or memory for digital cameras

44. Paperback books (you can leave them in the hotel library once you've read)
45. A canvas beach bag or lightweight daypack (you'll want something big enough to hold a bottle of water, your camera & sunscreen, etc.)
46. A small money belt or fanny pack to hold cash, credit cards, etc. - be sure to wear it in the front
47. Guidebook (but you may not need the whole book - you can just tear out pages for only what you're interested in)
48. Electrical converter/adapter (only if going outside of the US and you need items like a hairdryer, battery charger for a camcorder, etc.)
49. Extra pair of glasses/contacts, asthma inhaler, and the like
50. Ziploc bags (all sizes; use for packing wet swimsuits or protecting camera and film when it rains)
51. Earplugs

53. Shout Wipes (instant stain-treater towelettes)
54. Anti-bacterial liquid or lotion
55. Visine
56. 1 pair old sneakers or Keds that can get wet or ruined (if you're traveling to the tropics)
57. 1 pair workout sneakers and 2-3 workout outfits if you plan on visiting the resort's gym or jogging on the beach
58. Compact umbrella or rain ponchos

* Insect repellent (and anti-itch cream for the bugs that break through)
* Band-Aids
* Aspirin
* Antacid
* Antihistamine
* Diarrhea medicine
* Motion sickness medicine
* Aloe vera
* Tampons/pads (besides the expense, they can be hard to find outside the US)
